Already in 2012 Pivotech was contacted to study Tasta and how a new skatepark could be implemented. The existing skatepark in wood was in very poor condition and in terms of skateboarding it felt outdated. Pivotech’s role involved responsibility over the entire design and construction phases, as well as being municipal advisers during monitoring and inspection phases.
Tasta is now by far the largest and most versatile skatepark in Norway. The skatepark includes large street, bowl and flow areas for all levels of skaters. The design integrates the skatepark with green areas in and around the park, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and a variety of platforms for spectators that enable large events to be held here. In 2016, Tasta Skatepark hosted the Norwegian Championships of skateboarding.
The second stage includes a noise barrier, a service building with viewpoints and a green roof, a street plaza and a café area. The skatepark is also the largest in Scandinavia, totaling nearly 7000m².
